Please be aware that due to current confidentiality laws, clergy cannot be informed by health care professionals of the need for pastoral care without your written consent.
If you or a loved one is (or will be) hospitalized, please contact the church personally. Federal privacy laws prevent hospital employees from informing us of the reason for hospital admissions, so we don’t know whether a parishioner has been admitted for something quite serious, such as a ruptured appendix, or something less serious. Also, hospitals may tell us when a patient has been discharged, but they do not tell us to where or to whose care. We don’t want to lose track of our flock, especially at a time when pastoral care can be so vital!
If emergency pastoral care is needed in the case of crisis, death, or severe illness, please call the parish clergy either at home or the office. Phone numbers are listed in the parish directory.
